Thrifted Display Hutch Makeover

Okay it's been way too long since I've been here and I've missed this space and I've missed sharing with all of you.

But I'm back for now and I know I'm overdue but ready to start documenting some of the changes and DIY and makeovers we've been working on in our new Utah home including so much more.

Thrifted Display Hutch Makeover

So today I'm here to share with you this thrifted display hutch makeover that I found on none other than FBMP, and this makeover was not only easy to do but super affordable.

To start let me just say that although this hutch looked like wood on the outside and heavy enough to definitely be wood, the surface was like a wood look-a-like vinyl which I hadn't realized until I picked it up but for the price, I wasn't mad about it because with chalk paint anything and everything is possible.

If you're familiar with me, you'd know that I utilized my preferred chalk paint for this project. Would you like me to show you the before so you can see how this piece originally looked?

Here she is.

And that bead board wallpaper turned out amazing, almost looks like real breadboard don't you think?

It took a couple of extra coats to cover this hutch just right considering the outside was quite sleek but I had plenty extra paint after I finished it. That's what I love about this chalk paint. I'll list all of the materials I used below.

Once I finished painting it I sealed it and added the doors back on and kept the original hardware. I love the original hardware it tells a story and gives this renovated piece some originality.

Love that this piece gives me extra room to showcase some of my favorite pieces and store away some of our baking supplies in the cabinets below plus my favorite linens from All Cotton And Linen, candles, napkins rings, vases, glasses thrifted pieces, etc.

And there is light!

Yes, I love that there was a light already installed and makes everything inside that much prettier inside. Love the glow it gives off. And that bead board. LOVE IT!
