As we casually step into the new year, it's a time to reflect on the home projects that defined 2024. This year I managed to accomplish some DIY home improvements, maybe not as maybe as I would have liked but enough progress to have made a difference.
Whether you're an experienced DIYer or just getting started, our projects from 2024 were quite easy, anyone can do them. So grab a comfy seat as we explore some of the highlights, the mishaps, and everything in between that made 2024 a memorable year for us DIY enthusiasts.
Here are the home projects we managed to tackle last year.
This project is ongoing because there are still some more things I'd like to do in this room. But the progress has been furnishings mostly and paint.
What I'd like to do down the line or as budget allows, is paint the walls a different color or do wallpaper eventually. Also, after living with the color I painted the bed and dresser, that might be changing soon again AND I need to add a rug in here. I will of course share those changes and updates as they happen as best I can but overall this is a very cozy and our guests have enjoyed it as is for now.
Miniature and kids furnishings are my jam. They're so fun and easy to makeover and this was just another opportunity to make something fun and easy that our grandson could use and play with. He loves it.
This was a FBMP find and one I had most of the materials on hand for but Hobby Lobby is my go to for fabrics and I enjoyed putting this project together for him, he's really enjoyed it so far and it's getting the use I hoped for.
If you read this post, then you know that this was one of the very first main projects but its also a WIP and changes happen as budget allows.
I feel like I'm always going to be a budgeted DIYer and that's okay. I prefer to take my time with projects so that I enjoy them that much more. The FREE bead board that recently added to this guest bath has been the best element in here by far.
More changes to come in this guest bath in 2025 hopefully so stay tuned.
This was a first kind of DIY for me and I can't wait to do more lampshades around our home. I have a tendency of taking too much time deciding on color and design, so bare with me. All good things happen and come to those who wait patiently.
This is one room I enjoyed making over because we use it as much as the kitchen. Giving the cabinets a fresh coat of paint including the walls was all this room needed to feel good.
As much as I wanted this room to be moody, its so small that I wanted it to feel fresh and airy just like our clothes when they come out of of the dryer. Can't wait to change out the floors and light fixture and this room will be done.
Last but not least our master bath. This is probably the most dramatic change or 2024 and most labor intensive because of the wall texture but oh so worth it.
I love and enjoy walking into our master bath now instead of cringing I admire the progress and how much more refreshing it feels. Definitely one I'll enjoy watching come into it's full fruition as the progress happens because lots more will and still needs to happen in here.
Lots of progress has been made outdoors in our backyard as well, but we have a lot to go. The progress made has been just small fixings to make it liveable and enjoyable while we await big changes so I'm hoping to share more of that in 2025 for sure.
I certainly cannot wait to share all the things flowing through my mind at the moment that I'd like to accomplish around our home this new year. I just have to get it all sorted once I do, I'll make sure to share it with you guys here so make sure to subscribe so you don't miss a beat!
Always a pleasure having you here and grateful for your support.
